This new version introduces one major feature: database-level logging policies
. (SQL Server version 2005 and above)
When developers have to fix a bug in a hurry, they often do not have time to do it in a fashion way (use of development, staging and production environment).
When working on many environments (development, staging, production), developers are facing two problems: risks of code losses and risks of incomplete deployment (because they did not exhaustively log their changes)
DDL triggers can help you in tracking which database structure changes have been made.
Other minor changes in this version:
- The registration of a personal copy can now be done directly from the GUI
- You can now choose to work with schema’s directly from the GUI (SQL Server 2005 and above)
- Bug when dropping a schema has been fixed
